Hi, I’m Ken!
Since fall 2018, I’ve been an Assistant Professor of Communication and media at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. I finished by dissertation, a history of the more than 100 years of competition between the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News, in February 2018. That project wrapped up three years of study at the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, where I earned a Ph.D. in journalism under the guidance of Mike Sweeney.
I'm the proud husband of my high school sweetheart, with whom I've been friends since moving to the same Colorado town of 800 residents in third grade, and father of the cutest baby girl ever born.
This is the one-stop shop for all things Ken. While I have a presence on most social media platforms, this is the place with the most up-to-date information about me. I update it regularly with research publications and presentations, and I manage to post every month or so about academic life on my blog.
